Raddle
Wooden raddle with metal hoops
Two lengths: 80 cm, 100 cm
1 cm spacing between hoops
80 cm: 92.5 x 3 x 2 cm (36 3/8” x 1 1/2” x 3/4”)
100 cm: 112.5 x 3 x 2 cm (44” x 1 1/2” x 3/4”)
Spread your warp using a raddle by clamping it across the back of your loom, then secure it inside your beater when you wind on (or leave it clamped in place). Why hoops? Sliding a warp stick through the hoops keeps your warp ends from popping out.
You can spread your warp on a Lilla loom by either using a raddle or pre-sleying a reed. Swedish weavers use both methods, but I've learned that Danish weavers prefer using a raddle. Winnie Poulsen, for example, recommends a raddle to beam on quickly.
I offer the option of purchasing the raddle unassembled (requires you to insert the metal hoops) or assembled (metal hoops inserted).
